Welcome To The IFIS Home Page

IFIS - The Institute for Impure Science - is the Royal Holloway Sci-Fi and Fantasy society and has existed at RHBNC/RHUL since 1979, pre-dating the formation of the Student Union that it is now a part of.

During that time it has, almost without doubt, been the most active non-sporting student society, organising at least one event every week.

So if you love science fiction or fantasy in any of its many forms, then come and join us and meet other like minded people.

Welcome to the start of another great year with IFIS. Check back here through out the term to find out what we're doing.

After whatever event is organised on Tuesday, we all head over to Crosslands (the bar in Founders) for a drink and chat, plus we also meet every Thursday at The Alma Mata for a purely social meeting.

Other News

The more observant of you may have noticed a few changes to the site recently.

You can now register whether or not you're attending events. Just keep an eye out for the links on the right side-bar or on the events pages themselves. There are also pages for each location too to help you find out where the event is including that all important google maps link.

Also, when you log on, there is now a little ticky box that means it'll remember you when you log in from the same computer in the future. Probably not much use if you're in the Computer Centre, but if you're on your home PC or laptop, then it'll mean you'll not have to type so much.
