Welcome To The IFIS Home Page

IFIS - The Institute for Impure Science - is the Royal Holloway Sci-Fi and Fantasy society and has existed at RHBNC/RHUL since (at least) 1978 and during that time it has, almost without doubt, been the most active non-sporting student society, organising at least one event every week.

So if you love science fiction or fantasy in any of its many forms, then come and join us and meet other like minded people.

Films / Events

The academic year is over and so everyone is now relaxing and enjoying a well earned rest from studying. We will still be meeting up on Thursdays, but until next year it is very much a case of "so long and thanks for all the fish".

After whatever event is organised on Tuesday, we all head over to The Stumble for a drink and chat, plus we also meet every Thursday at The Alma Mata for a purely social meeting.

Other News

Aside from a few minor tweaks and fixes, the site is mostly unchanged. The most notable new feature is a new suggestion of what to do in the members area which is based upon the books you've read or reviewed. It also relies on people tagging the books they like with common tags.
