IFIS - The Institute for Impure Science - is the Royal Holloway Sci-Fi and Fantasy society and has existed at RHBNC/RHUL since 1979, pre-dating the formation of the Student Union that it is now a part of.
During that time it has, almost without doubt, been the most active non-sporting student society, organising at least one event every week.
So if you love science fiction or fantasy in any of its many forms, then come and join us and meet other like minded people.

So, I haven't actually seen this film yet and as a result you can have my interpretation of what it is about.
There is some sort of robot, a bit like a cross between pussycat from robot wars (anyone else remember those guys?) and a crab. He/She/It lives in a dump a la stig and spends his/her/its time compacting rubbish into little cubes because you've got to do something to pass the time I guess. Then stuff happens. I assume he/she/it meets someone. Probably another robot. Maybe an alien.
Everyone seems to think it is a good film so I am keen to see it and you have probably already seen it and liked it or plan to see it so it doesn't matter how crap this description was or was not.

After whatever event is organised on Tuesday, we all head over to The Stumble for a drink and chat, plus we also meet every Thursday at The Alma Mata for a purely social meeting.

Other News
Aside from a few minor tweaks and fixes, the site is mostly unchanged. The most notable new feature is a new suggestion of what to do in the members area which is based upon the books you've read or reviewed. It also relies on people tagging the books they like with common tags.
