Minutes for IFIS AGM 2006
- Quaracy confirmed by Emily from the SU, who also explained the proceedings.
- President: oversees everything. Makes sure we're insured and
stuff.
- Judith: Previous experience (arts treasurer), reliable, always here,
can negotiate for rooms, go to meetings, has the time+resources, will
wear a Leia outfit to fresher's fayre! Make it so!
- Are you used to responsibility?
- Englefield Green Rainbows, guide leader
- What trips 'n' fun stuff will oyu organise?
- Conventions in london, films, suggestions
- How will you promote the library?

- Secretary: general work, posters, help out, "paper bitch", deal
with the SU, communications with members, keep people informed and
up-to-date
- Martin: Good for job 'cos he's held 20 SU positions. Lots of union
stuff, 4th year, always makes time for sci-fi, understands how stuff
works, wants to try something slightly different this year so is going
for secretary, he's really cool and great!
- What are your plans?
- Put a couple of serieses on (firefly?)
- Will you revive the Short Skirt tradition for secretaries at AGMs?
- No!

- Treasurer: fills in the squiggly little forms, looks after bags
with tags, misses training days, good job for someone who doesn't go
on field trips, someone who can make 2*2=5, but no fraud, needs to
multitask, gets 3 secret murders per year. More important than
treasurer because they can stop activity if there are no funds.
Requires trust (looks good on CV), lots of money, basic maths
(calculator use is probably enough)
- Tim: I'll do treasurer. Went to training day. Physics, some grasp of
maths, enough sci-fi to know "what's good to buy", promises not to bugger
it up.
- Promise me you'll not spend our vast social fund on one giant party?
- [did tim actually promise this?!?]
- Will you buy more books?
- Yup, and organise trips to Forbidden Planet, etc

- Meeting ajourned. Film! [Serenity, Yay!]
