Hello everyone,
After a fun and enjoyable Picocon this weekend, our film for the week is
Akira. Yes, we're bending the rules on anime because we've realised, well,
it's still sci-fi (and we just showed Space Jam, so we can do whatever we
like).
Anyway, Akira is a 1988 anime film set in the glittering cyberpunk future of
2019. After World War III, Neo-Tokyo has risen from the ashes, but is home
to motorcycle gangs, rioters and shady scientists experimenting on the
city's psychic youths...
After the film, we go, as is customary, to the Stumble Inn. And I might as
well remind you of our meeting at the Al Ma Ma Ta every Thursday meeting,
seeing as lots of you aren't turning up! Come down for some friendly
company, on one of these lonely Thursday evenings and have a bit of fun!
See you tomorrow for Akira!
