List of pub places

Alas, this pub has become a Mexican restaurant under an entirely new name. Prior to that it was known as The Railway. This second route can be slightly shortened if you're feeling adventurous by cutting down Malt Hill (by the bus stop) and walking down Grange Road.

One of the many pubs we've used over the years for our weekly socials and certainly the one that was the furtherest away from campus.

This pub is hidden in the deepest darkest wilds of Englefield Green/Egham and only the bravest of students (or those who have gotten lost) know of it's location. Famous for it's fruit wines and mead made by the Gales brewery. (this entry needs updating as it is based on our last experiences of this pub back in 2007)

Crosslands has plenty of seating and tables and good selection of drinks. It also does food. In the summer (or the winter if you're crazy) you can sit outside in the quad.

Formally a rather dark and dingy bar called Holloways, it has been reborn into a bright and colourful neon place with a thankfully much bigger bar, but really awkwardly shaped tables. We sometimes end up in here on a Tuesday after whatever [/events/ event] we've had as our preferred venue, The Stumble Inn, is often closed.

The nearest pub to campus, this used to be The Monkey's Forehead until it was recently (2017) acquired and refurbished by RHULSU. Before that it was The Royal Ascot and where we used to hold our weekly events. Even before that it was called The Packhorse and this is where the SU got the current name for it.

Nearest Tube: Pimlico or St James' Park This was an excellent Sci-Fi Pub. Saturday nights were best. Unfortunately it's now long since been turned into some trendy generic boring pub/winebar.

*Many* years ago, this used to be the pub we had our weekly social gatherings in. It's since changed name to the Monkey's Forehead and we've moved on to other better places.

This is a mock wood beam pub below Medicine. It's quite small and cosy. Aside from snacks it doesn't do food. Because it's an SU venue, you do need to bring along some proof of age as well as your college card to be able to get in. This is currently where we'd like to have our socials after whatever it is we do on a Tuesday except quite often it's been shut and so we've found ourselves in Medicine upstairs.
